Calendar Week 31 – Trip to Tupelo

On Tuesday evening, I drove to Tupelo, once arrived I ate something at OG, and got some more food at Taco Bell for Leslie. On Wednesday morning I got up early to visit my friend’s coffee shop a few blocks off main street.I had a nice coffee and the opportunity to catch up with my friend. While I was at the coffee shop, I made some plans for the rest of the day. My goal was to find more of these art works which are painted on buildings in Tupelo old town. After my coffee I stopped at the Private John Allen National Fish Hatchery, just a couple minutes away from the main street. At the hatchery there was that beautiful building back from 1901 and with all the fish ponds behind this building. Later in the morning I started finding more artwork in the streets of Tupelo old town. It took me not to long and I found a couple of nice artworks, see pictures here. However, I couldn’t find all of them. For Lunch I stopped at the 212 Café in old town to eat one of their nice sandwiches again, the sandwich I chose is called honey apple nut chicken salad sandwich, which was delicious. After Lunch I went to a couple of shoe stores to find comfortable work shoes for myself. Unfortunately, I couldn’t find a pair I like, so drove back to the hotel where I prepared my self to go out with Leslie to have dinner together.

When Leslie came back from work, we drove to a Mexican restaurant (Cantina Del Sol) which was close to the hotel to have a margarita, and dinner. We ordered a nachos platter with various meet on top. That platter was super delicious and there was plenty of food for two people. With a full belly we drove to Tupelo downtown where we found a restaurant which has a roof top bar where we ordered a nice desert. We ordered a cookie desert which came in a form of a guitar, remember Tupelo was Elvis Presley’s birthplace. Later in the evening on the way back to the hotel we were stopping at the blue canoe bar to check in for some beers. This bar was very interesting, rustical with a great atmosphere to hang out with local people after a long day.
