Calendar Week 15

Thursday morning, I got up early to attend my online course. The current module is how you can measure the sensitivity of the bond price when the yield to maturity changes. To understand the sensitivity, we must understand the duration and how it is related. Below a  summary what learned in this module so far.

Property 1: Bond duration is higher -> when coupon rate is lower. (Bond price is more sensitive to yield to maturity changes)

Property 2: Bond duration is higher -> when maturity is higher. (Bond price is more sensitive to yield to maturity changes)

Property 3: Bond duration is higher -> when yield to maturity is lower. (Bond price is more sensitive to yield to maturity changes)

Around 11:00 am a drove down to Decatur to get my second Covid-19 vaccine shot. On the way there I made a phone call with Walti to catch up on his latest new. The process to receive the second shot took me around 30 minute and I could leave the CVS Pharmacy. On the way back to Huntsville talked to my mum to catch up on her latest news.

Back home I had some late Lunch before I made my way to our Lot at Twin Creek. My goal for today was to document the piping, ventilation, and AC System. Because most of it will be behind walls afterwards and not visible anymore. It took me almost an hour to draw and to take pictures for each section of the piping, ventilation, and AC System. By the end it is like a manual and it helps me to find potential problems in the future.

After I returned to the House, I fixed the garden door and lubricated all the hinges. Due to the weather ever ting started to bend, so I had to do some adjustment to the hinges as well as to the door lock. After maintaining all the doors, it was already time to prepare dinner for tonight. I made my special lentils soup, which turned out to salty this time. However, we all were hungry and ate as much as we could.

On Sunday morning I continued my online class, where I had to apply what I learned in Excel. I enjoy the class and can benefit a lot from it. That keeps me motivated to put in time and effort to learn something new. Today Leslie has to go to work after Lunch, so she decided to prepare Lunch before she left. She made a nice soup with the leftovers. I am glad to have a wife who can prepare such nice meals.

Later the day I went with mum to Home depot and Lowe’s to get the material we need to build the flower bed. We bought the wood for the side planks as well as soil and plants to put in. On our way back home, we stopped a t Kroger to buy groceries for dinner. Back at the house I started to put the flower bed together and cutting the wood pieces to the right length. It was a bit of work, but it turned out nicely. Most important is that mum likes it very much and she is happy to plant here plants and herbs she wants to.

Again, it is my turn to prepare dinner, tonight I made potato casserole, which is always nice and stuffing. After dinner I went early to bed and watched an episode of Goldrausch in Alsaka. I like this series a lot and I am looking forward to contentious watching it.
