From Saturday through Sunday, we hat to set our time to summertime, which means one hour forward. Unfortunately, this costed me one hour of sleep, therefore I woke up later than usual. First thing this Sunday was gathering all the paperwork together to fill out the AHV form for Switzerland. We decided to continue being a member of the AHV despite the fact our residence is no longer Switzerland. What this means for us, it means I pay 10.1% of my yearly income into the Swiss AHV to benefit later when I am retired. There are a bunch of paper you have to submit, for example Earnings statement (W2) and Bank statements as well as life insurance balance.
Around noon after Leslie got up, we drove together to the lot at twin creek to see what progress the worker made over the last week. The constructor workers poured the finally the slab for the house. It looks very nice and smooth. I hope the concrete is even and there are no deeper dips. After visiting the Lot, we drove to different stores in town to find all the birthday presents for Mum, her birthday comes up on the 19th of March. We stopped at several stores until we found what we were looking for. Mum would like to have a small hair straightener which fits in her purse.
Around 3:00 pm we drove to the ice hockey stadium in Huntsville to buy tickets for the hockey game. It has been while since I visited a hockey game. We thought that is a good activity to do together on our free day together. Leslie got the tickets, and I was looking for a parking spot nearby. After we had the tickets, we spend some time together in the park downtown where we enjoyed the nice spring sun.
The hockey game started at 5 pm, so we had enough time to buy something to eat and to drink. the organizer did a good job with preparing the stadium for social distancing. There were several seats not available, so the fans were spread out. We had almost our row for our self’s. Tonight’s game was Huntsville Havoc against the Birmingham Bulls. The game was interesting and started good for Huntsville Havoc but in the second third, they got behind and could not catch-up whit the bulls. They lost the game 2:3. We enjoyed the time together and it was fun to attend the game.
On the way home we sopped at Papa Jones pizzeria to get a nice big pizza, 3 cheese and sausage.
