Calendar Week 1 – Marco Dubler

The first week in the new year was not very exciting. Unfortunately, my coworker is still sick, and I am the only technician at the shop, this causes extra pressure and stress. However, the store is not super busy, so I am able to do all the jobs with some help and support from the manager. It is not an ideal situation, but I have to go through and hope it will change soon and my coworker comes back. Beside working hard at the store, I prepare my toolbox to bring to work, so that I can work more independently and not always have to use the tools from the manager or from my work college. Furthermore, I like my tools more organized and task specific than the others. Also, I have some diagnostics tools which helps me to find errors much faster and those I do not want to lay around the shop. Some of the tools I brought over from Switzerland and some others I got from dad, which I am very glad for. However, there are a lot of tools I have to buy, because before we left Switzerland, I sold them or gave them away to friends and family. I start buying only necessary tools to the job at work, like sockets, wrenches, pliers, and screwdrivers.

I bought my toolbox cart with 4 drawers from Harbor Freight as my Christmas present. The cart is big enough to store all the necessary tools, which makes me happy. Furthermore, it is built to last and comes with a looker to look your box whenever needed. At the moment I am preparing foam inserts, so that every tool has his own spot, and I am able to see if I am missing a tool after a job or project. However, not all the tools will have a specific spot, because I have to make some rearrangement as soon as I get more tools.

Thursday was my day off and Leslie’s day off. This means we could share our free time together, in the morning we had breakfast at Burger king and went shopping at Walmart, and Kroger to get groceries, we stopped as well at Michael’s to get items for my project. In the afternoon we had an Apéro together with some snacks and Gin and Ginger Beer, which we both enjoyed. Later in the afternoon we were watching an episode of MONEY HEIST at Netflix, which I got really attached to it.
